A great way to teach children about Fairtrade is through a simulation game. Christian Aid has a wide selection including the Trading Game the Chocolate Trade Game  and the Paper Bag Game which are suited to a variety of different age groups.

This comprehensive site includes everything you need to know about Fairtrade in Scotland! It has resources for schools, highlighting where Fairtrade fits across all curriculum areas. Plus information on classroom resources, finding speakers, taking part in campaigns and sourcing Fairtrade goods. It also has a dedicated Fairtrade nursery section. www.scottishfairtradeforum.org.uk

A wide range of lesson plans and activity ideas for all age ranges, with links made to many subject areas. There are lots of case studies and background information on Fairtrade producers and products.

A comprehensive overview of the current crisis with lots of links to really useful websites. Sections include: What’s happening? Where have people come from, and why? There are a number of excellent resources and they are easily accessible through Signposts for Global Citizenship. The resources can be easily searched by level and curriculum area. Some materials can be downloaded directly from the site while others can be borrowed from your local Development Education Centre.
