11TH NOVEMBER EVERY YEAR

International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day celebrates the achievements, contributions and rights of women around the world.
Through a Global Citizenship Education lens, the day creates opportunities to explore gender equality, representation, human rights and fairness, helping learners understand how gender shapes experiences locally and globally.

This links naturally to learning across Scottish classrooms by supporting Health and Wellbeing, Social Studies and literacy, and providing space for respectful discussion around equity, stereotypes and activism.
